ash:portal is an interactive installation celebrating the West Mexican portrayal of Colima dogs, an important food source for Mesoamerican communities in the Late Formative Period (300 BC-300 AD). Rendered with ash, the work erodes over time, as footfalls and wisps of wind tug at its myriad particles.
